I build the parts of Odoo that don’t come in the box.

I’m Umer, an Odoo developer and techno-functional consultant. I handle Odoo customization and custom module development, Odoo migration and upgrades, QWeb and Excel report customization, and Odoo integrations, so your ERP matches exactly how your business and your accountant work. Three years of live Odoo projects in the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Pakistan, for companies and for Odoo partners.

Odoo migration guide: what changes from Odoo 13 to Odoo 20

Pick your current Odoo version, then the version you want to upgrade to, and see what changes for custom modules on the way.

Step 1: tap your current version

Every upgrade includes porting your custom modules, a full test run on a copy of your database, and a data check before go-live.Each change checked against Odoo’s official source code on GitHub. Code samples follow the patterns in Odoo’s own modules.

    DHA Quetta, housing authority, Pakistan

Odoo ERP for a housing authority: property, allotment and land management

    The situation

The authority runs membership, plot allotment, transfers, building approvals and land acquisition for a large housing scheme. Every process has its own stages, approvers and fees, and the custom modules had to move from Odoo 16 to 19 without stopping daily work.

    The flow

    1. Property bank
    2. Membership
    3. Allotment or ballot
    4. Transfer
    5. Building approvals

    What I built

    • Batch allotment: one case allots several properties to one buyer, and all of them move through the approval chain together.
    • A computerised location ballot with encrypted entries, role-based access and a public reveal screen, with PDF and Excel results.
    • Land acquisition: land providers, ownership records by revenue-estate identifiers, possession and file delivery. I removed its dependency on Enterprise Documents so it runs on Community.
    • The upgrade of the custom suite from 16 to 19: views, ORM calls, access rules and JavaScript.
    • An API that receives records pushed from the legacy Oracle system, validates them and creates or updates them in Odoo.

Tadbeer Al Safwa, domestic workers services, Dubai

Odoo website development: a bilingual worker catalogue with online booking

    The situation

A Dubai Tadbeer centre wanted families to find suitable domestic workers online, in English or Arabic, and request the service without calling the office.

    The flow

    1. Browse workers
    2. Filter
    3. Order the service
    4. Back office follow-up

    What I built

    • A worker catalogue on the Odoo website with search and five filters: nationality, job, status, experience and category.
    • Bilingual English and Arabic pages, including right-to-left layouts.
    • Online service ordering, handled by the back office in the same Odoo database.

Odoo B2B eCommerce: a trade-only store where prices show after login

    The situation

A Dubai distributor of networking, server and printing products sells to trade customers and doesn't publish its prices to the public.

    The flow

    1. Register
    2. Sign in
    3. See trade prices
    4. Order

    What I built

    • An Odoo eCommerce catalogue across networks and security, wireless, hardware, servers and storage, printers and software.
    • Prices hidden for guests, with a login or register prompt in their place.
    • Product cards with quantity and add-to-cart for signed-in trade customers.

    • Odoo QWeb and Excel report customization

White-label Odoo development for Odoo partners

When your backlog is bigger than your team, I take on Odoo development tasks, Odoo migrations and overflow work as outsourced capacity, delivered under your brand.

    • White-label

Your client stays your client. I don't contact them unless you ask me to.

    • NDA first

I sign your NDA before any code or client details are shared.

    • Your workflow

Your Git repository, tickets, code review and coding standards.

    • Any version

Odoo 13 to 20, Community and Enterprise, self-hosted or Odoo.sh.

Ways to work together: fixed price per task, a monthly block of hours, or a part-time or full-time seat on your team.

    Discuss a partnership

    How an Odoo project runs

No surprises on scope, price or dates.

    1. You send the problem

A screenshot, an error message or a short description is enough to start.

    2. You get a fixed quote

Scope, price and delivery date in writing before any work begins.

    3. I build and test

On a copy of your database first, with short written updates along the way.

    4. Handover

Code in your repository, notes on what changed, and follow-up fixes included.

    About me

I’m Umer Daraz, an Odoo developer and techno-functional consultant with three years of building, customizing and maintaining Odoo ERP for housing authorities, contractors, distributors, retailers and service businesses.

I work on both sides of a project: I sit with the requirement, write it down, build it, and look after the server it runs on. I'm comfortable with the unglamorous parts too, like reading someone else's custom code, fixing data that doesn't add up, and making reports match the accounts.

I work in English, write short updates as work progresses, and say early if something will take longer than quoted.

    Odoo development FAQ

Common questions about hiring an Odoo developer. Anything else, ask on WhatsApp or by email.

How much does it cost to hire an Odoo developer?

Each Odoo task gets a fixed price once I’ve seen the requirement. Larger Odoo projects are split into milestones, and Odoo partners can book a monthly block of hours. Quotes are free.

Are you open to full-time or part-time roles?

Yes. I take full-time, part-time and project-based work, fully remote.

What do you need from me to start?

Your Odoo version and edition, a description or screenshot of what you need, and access to a test copy of your database. I don't need your live system to get started.

Which Odoo versions and editions do you work with?

Odoo 13 to 20, Community and Enterprise, self-hosted or on Odoo.sh. Most of my delivered work is on 15 to 19, and I take Odoo 20 projects now. Odoo Online doesn’t allow custom code, so there I help with configuration and Studio only.

Do you work white-label for Odoo partners?

Yes. I work inside your team and processes, and I don't contact your client unless you ask me to.

Will you sign an NDA, and who owns the code?

Yes, I sign before any details are shared. You own everything I build, and it's delivered to your repository.

What time zone are you in?

GMT+5. That covers the full working day in the UAE and Saudi Arabia, mornings in Europe, and calls with the Americas by arrangement.

How long does an Odoo migration take?

It depends on how many custom modules you have and how far apart the versions are. A database with few customizations can move in days; a heavily customized one takes longer. I review your modules first and give you a fixed timeline before starting.

Do you work with companies in the UAE and Saudi Arabia?

Yes. Most of my Odoo clients are in the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Pakistan. I work remotely in GMT+5, which overlaps the full Gulf working day, and I build UAE VAT invoices and Arabic reports regularly.
